Wonder and dread coalesce: the mobile video installation Walk into Wildfire explores our complex relationship with fire, while allowing viewers to experience its elemental beauty. This work was created by artist Ethan Turpin as part of his Burn Cycle Project, founded in 2013 to bring awareness to wildfire’s risks, roles, and behaviors.  Content is generated through collaborations with fire services, scientists, artists, journalists, and educators, for exhibition in public spaces.

Walk into Wildfire, video installation

The Walk Into Wildfire - Mobile System debuted at the Nature Discourse exhibit at Sagehen Creek Field Station near Truckee, CA. The installation is designed to prompt conversations and motivate personal involvement in communities where wildland fires occur.
