Sharply visceral, Christina Massey’s mixed media works are a wreckage of woven elements, ranging from the corporeal to the industrial. Here she confronts the devastation of the recent wildfires on homes and communities in Northern California.

Christina Massey Testimonial:

I grew up near Sacramento, went to school at Chico, so several friends who have stayed in the region lost their homes. My sister lives in Santa Rosa and got extremely lucky in 2017 that she did not lose her home. So while I live in NYC, the fires cause an enormous amount of stress and anxiety and so these recent collages are very influenced by all the imagery I have seen of the skies and fires.
